Season 9 is live: Jubilee joins the roster, the Team-Up system is rebuilt from the ground up, Black Widow gets a rework, and the July 6 balance post replaces the May 15 read as the ranked hero-power baseline.

Checked dates: 6-10 Jul 2026

Key changes
  • 1New hero Jubilee arrives with Season 9; reaching Gold or above this season earns her Crimson Crown costume.
  • 2The Team-Up system is revamped end to end with new Team-Up abilities, so old anchor bonuses and pairings no longer apply.
  • 3The July 6 balance post is a full-roster pass: ultimate energy generation is slower for every role, and many tanks and divers trade base Health for new Regenerative Shields that recharge after 5 seconds without damage.
  • 4Black Widow's kit is significantly reworked, and Cyclops takes targeted nerfs to Optic Blast damage and mobility cooldowns after a strong Season 8.5.
  • 5Season events Death of Apocalypse and Resurrection of the Horsemen begin, and new Twitch Drops run July 10 to August 7.

Easier today

  • Brawl-style Vanguards like Devil Dinosaur, Groot, and Doctor Strange, who gained flat Health or shield buffs.
  • Strategists with buffed healing output such as Cloak & Dagger, Luna Snow, Rocket Raccoon, and Ultron.
  • Players who poke from range: Regenerative Shield heroes reset if you let them breathe, so disciplined focus fire wins fights.

Harder today

  • Anyone playing on Season 8.5 habits: ult timings come up noticeably slower for every role.
  • Dive heroes that relied on old Team-Up anchor damage bonuses — most flat 5-15% boosts were removed.
  • Cyclops players, who lose per-hit damage and gain longer mobility cooldowns.

Bronze-Plat recommendation

Treat today as a real reset. Requeue expecting slower ultimates, learn which of your heroes now run Regenerative Shields, and read the new Team-Up list before locking your usual duo. The July 6 balance post is the new baseline — the May 15 read is history.
